A collection of rants, musings, reivews, and general hysteria.

I added Fences to my account a while ago, and it was working fine up until today - today I got my new laptop and was not able to install Fences on it. The laptop is using the same OS as the previous one (Windows Vista  Home Premium).

The error I get (no code or details) is when I try to download it - it starts the download (gets through 'Preparing Download') and then just says 'Error' in the list view and below it says 'File not Found'.  To test to see if it was a connectivity issue I clicked on TweakVista and pressed the Install button - TweakVista downloaded and installed fine so it isn't a connectivity issue (plus all other net related apps are working fine).

Is there a problem with this program? I truly enjoy how it enables me to organize my desktop and don't want to lose the features it offers.

Thanks in advance.

Hmm. The file not found error is interesting, as the files are definitely there to download Fences.  There has been some server work recently as we move things around, so it may be you just caught the middle of something.  Try resetting your Impulse data (Impulse orb > Preferences > Reset Data) and see if the download works.

I'm having the same problem. Saw Fences for the first time and thought it looked interesting, tried to download it and did the File not Found thing. I also am using a laptop with Vista Home Premium.

After a few resets the Fences finally downloaded for me. Took about a week of trying for it to do so. Thanks for the info though
